Outer Blogness: the complete list

The complete "Outer Blogness" blogroll is currently hosted on our hub/community blog Main Street Plaza (as of October 2010).

For your blog to qualify as part of this Outer Blogness list, you must meet the following two criteria:

1. You have been Mormon (or at the very least you've had a strong personal connection with Mormonism in your life),
2. You do not currently believe the truth claims of Mormonism.

That's it. You don't actually have to talk about Mormonism on your blog at all. If you qualify and I don't have you on the list, please email me: chanson dot exmormon at gmail dot com. Ditto for if there's an error in your link or title or if you're on the list and would like to be removed.

We used to have a handy sidebar widget you could use to show the most-recently-updated Outer Blogness blogs -- and maybe one day we will again! But for now (Fall 2010), if you're a part of Outer Blogness, we'd like to ask you to display a link to Main Street Plaza on your blog. You can even use one of these handy buttons (courtesy of Chino Blanco)!

Either save the image and link it to MSP on your own, or copy this code into your blog template:

Thanks, and I hope to see you soon in Outer Blogness!!

  1. By golly, that's a lot of Outer Blogness.

I'm thinkin' a collaborative Book of Exmormon would be nifty - we could pilfer the best and brightest ideas, concepts, images and create one serialized book that celebrates diversity, sexuality, the various isms or ologies, with a nice hat tip towards adult erotica (visual or textual).

May the farce be with you. Drats, that's already taken, but I'm sure one of us thought of it first! We can backdate our journals to prove it.

  2. Hey Sideon!!!

    That is an excellent idea!!!

Personally, I have all of these blogs in my reader (except the one or two that don't have RSS feeds). I can pass along to you the ones I think are exceptional if you like... :D

Um, how do you know if you have an RSS feed?

    (Do I have one?)

  4. Hey Wry!!!

Don't worry, you have one. The standard blog services provide them by default.

  5. Note to all:

I've posted the list as an easy-to-import opml file here.

  6. Hey. Just wanted to find out if I can get my blog link updated... I've changed my blog from Fr33kishly Paranoid to Epic Swell, located at http://blog.epicswell.com.

    Thanks.

  8. What do the asterisks signify?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hey Wren!!!

They mean the blog has been recently updated. So different blogs will have asterisks depending on when you load this page.

  10. Hey - coming out of hiding to ask if my blog can be added:

    http://www.floatinginthemilk.blogspot.com

I only manage to post a few times a month, but I haven't abandoned it.

  11. Hey FitM!!!

Of course -- glad to see you're back in business!!! :D

(I'm sorry to have removed it from the list at all -- your blog's temporary disappearance unfortunately coincided with one of my rare cleanup/pruning days.)

  12. Hey - I'm not sure this is working currently and updating. I could be wrong however.

  13. Hey Aerin!!!

    Thanks!

The service goes down from time to time, but it looks like it's back up again. :D

  14. What I'd like to do is subscribe to the entire list as a single RSS feed in Google Reader. If someone had an aggregate feed and exported it, this would be possible.

Or, how do you use the opml file in Google Reader?

    A little clueless....

  15. Hey MoHoHawaii!!!

I wish I knew. I just added them to my Google reader one by one, but I doubt that's the most efficient technique...

  16. Oooh, I think we're almost there. If you go to "Manage Subscriptions" and the click on the "Folders and Tags" you should see a list of all of your folders in Google Reader.

If you make your "Outer Blogness" folder public, you will get a URL that anyone can subscribe to as an aggregate feed.

The nice thing about this is that when you change the list, everyone who subscribes to your aggregated feed sees the change.

If you do this, I'll beta test!

    Great idea!

    Here's the url: http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user%2F04321524370078994851%2Flabel%2Fouter-blogness

  18. It works! Thanks!

You should post this on a Main Street Plaza sidebar that new readers will see it.

  19. Please remove My Religious Blog from your list. I do not meet the qualifications as I DO IN FACT "currently believe the truth claims of Mormonism". And I reject my name being included on the list with such a qualification.

    Thank you.

  20. Hi Gatsby!

I have just removed your blog. I an very sorry for the error. I found your blog by following a link from an exmo blog, and it looked very much like yours was a blog written by an exmo intending to poke fun at Mormons -- so I misidentified it. No malice was intended, and thanks for the clarification.
