And historical constructs of race are also not helpful. <br /><br />I'm reminded of <a href="http://acranberryblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/race-as-construct.html" rel="nofollow">this book</a> that I read about a white American in the 19th century who claimed to be a pullman porter. <br /><br />With that said, it's also fascinating to me that we, as humans, are so aware and conscious of our differences.
