I can't wait to go back!!!

Hey Mathmom!!!

Hmm, it's a little hard for me to compare, but this one definitely impressed me. It was a week-long conference held in a charming hotel that was once a monastery (here's a pic of my kids in one of the courtyards), and they served us a three-course meal in the hotel restaurant every night. On Wednesday afternoon, they chartered some boats and took the whole group on a guided tour of the Borromean Islands (math trivia: the Borromean rings got their name from being part of the crest of the family that owns the islands). This tour included a nice apéritif on one of the islands and a dinner in a nice restaurant on another.C. L. It's not on everyone's "must see" list, but definitely worth the trip.

I learned there that Italian physics conferences are much fancier than American math conferences. They had a multi course dinner at a Palladian villa and a concert by Claudio Scimone from I Solisti Veneti... Definitely an experience. Are European math conferences like that too?mathmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07887205622583099966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19053670.post-61094783583279969102009-04-27T08:20:00.000-07:002009-04-27T08:20:00.000-07:00beautiful.
