Blogs that get songs stuck in my head

The two worst offenders are the following:

First of all, Sam-I-Am, over on Feminist, Economist is a really cool blogger, but every single time I load her blog I get that "Philosopher Song" from Monty Python stuck in my head. It's because her co-blogger is called "John Stewart Mill." This only goes to show how un-ed-juh-ma-kated I am, that the only thing I have filed under "John Stuart Mill" in my associative memory is "Bruces' Philosophers Song." ;-)

The other one is Hello Waffles.

I read that blog and ten minutes later I catch my stupid brain singing to me Simon and Garfunkel strains of "Hello Waffles, my old friend... I've come to talk with you again..."

Then I ask myself "Why? Why? Why???"

It's obvious that he's doing a riff on "Hello Kitty," not "Hello darkness"!!!

D'oh!!!

That's hilarious. I love that you post about politics, porn, and...waffles. :) If I'm ever in France I'm totally going to stalk you. In the non-threatening celebrity I-want-your-autograph kind of way, not the crazy break-into-your-apartment kind of way.

In restless dreams I walked alone, down the streets of cobblestone...

Just listen to some MMBT, it'll get that Simon and Garfunkel song right out of your head.

Hey Rebecca!!!

That would be fun if you visited me here in France!!!

I just hope Kalvin (of Hello Waffles) doesn't think I'm stalking him... First I submitted a post of his to this week's Carnival of the Veil, and now this... But of course it was because I was busily calling his post to Gunner's attention that I got that damn song stuck in my head. ;^)

Hey Sinister Porpoise!!!

What's MMBT? I hope that's not like Mo-Tab... ;^)

The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones...

And no, they're not like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

And the porpoise is laughing, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

Now I have to fire up the I-tunes.

Thanks a lot, Chanson! :)

**pondering**

Consider yourself tagged - what is YOUR theme song?

Hey Sinister Porpoise!!!

Of course!!!

I actually have one of their albums, I just didn't make the connection. You're right -- they're nothing like Mo-Tab or Simon and Garfunkel. :D

Hey Domokun!!!

Yep, another clear potential offender. ;-)

Then Equality compounds the problem by posting songs to his NOM blog all the time... ;-)

Hey Sideon!!!

I think mine would have to be "Mr. Jones" (Counting Crows):

Believe in me
because I don't believe in anything
and I want to be someone to believe...

And you? I know you've posted some songs -- which is your theme?

Today I heard Simon & Garfunkel's song: "Ceeeelia, you're breakin' my heart, you're shakin' my confidence daily..." I was thrown back in time to my year as an Austrian exchange student. I had taken only one tape (S&G Greatest Hits) with me, and my 12 yr old host sister, LDS also, came thru one day singing this song really loud..."Makin' love in the afternoon with Cecilia, etc." I had to tell her to quit singing that particular song before her dad who understood English better heard her!

LOL!!!

You know, one of my BYU freshman dorm friends -- a Mormon girl born and bred -- was named for that song!!!

OMG - "Mister Jones" is a FANTASTIC song.

My song? *pondering*

"Small talk is for small minds,
they really don't impress me in bed.
I need a man's man, baby,
with diamonds and furs.
Love will only conquer my head."
-Sheila E - Glamorous Life

How's that one?

I haven't heard it...I'll have to look it up.

Computer problems are leaving me bummed and silent.

Hey Sam-I-Am!!!

Well, I look forward to seeing your contributions again as soon as you and your computer are up to it... ;-)

Theme song, theme song...

"It Only Makes Me Laugh" by Danny Elfman

"I don't know why I feel this way,

I don't know if it's right or wrong to laugh at misfortune,

Darkness can never last too long..."

Oh, I'm so sorry to do that to you!

Hey La!!!

I don't know that one, but it looks like a good choice.

Thanks a lot Kalvin!!! Now I'm never speaking to you again!!!

J/K!!! ;-)
