Carnivals, carnivals, carnivals!!!

It's carnival time again, and blog-whore that I am, I submitted posts to a bunch of them!!! Please have a look at the Humanist Symposium, the Carnival of the Veil, and the Carnival of the Godless!!!

Better yet, I got the coveted link from pharyngula!!! Here's the secret: PZ is not impressed by fawning, but he loves it when people make fun of him. ;^)

In other news, John Dehlin has invited my brother to be a pundit on his new show, Mormon Matters!!! Wow!!! Meanwhile, Dehlin won't even add me to his blogroll over on Mormon Stories even though I've asked him to a couple of times. I feel like I'm back at Youth Conference: it's, like, a popularity contest and all my siblings keep beating me at it... >:^(

Well, I guess I can hardly complain. ;^)

Well, congratulations are in order. And the comments under the PZ thread are mostly introspective so that's a job well done.

As for getting on John D's blogroll -- not likely for the author of a book titled "Exmormon". I know John and don't think he has anything personally against outspoken exmormons. But his target audience very often does. He's just being careful about being "nice" to those folks who find the term "exmormon" to be mean.

You meanie, you. :P

Thanks Mel!!!

I think you're right about his target audience. As far as the book title is concerned, I'm just being honest about what's in it, because otherwise you could read along in the story for quite a long time without realizing it's written by an apostate. And tricking people is not what it's about.

Still, it kind of annoys me when NOMs say "I don't believe XYZ, but I'm an active Mormon, and don't you dare tell me I'm not!" and then feel perfectly justified excluding people who don't believe or practice any of it but still consider Mormonism to be an important part of their heritage and want to be friends with the larger cultural Mormon community.

Thanks Cynthia!!!
