Heaven and Hell in Bern, Switzerland

Things were so much simpler in the olden days. When the populace is largely illiterate, and the church fathers (et al) want to keep the peasants in line, a picture is worth a thousand words:

It is kind of cool. I wish I had a clearer picture with explanations of the various tortures (respectively rewards) pictured. Unfortunately, Wikipedia couldn't help me...

There's a lot of cool, old public art in Bern, though. The thing I liked the best was this tower with an astronomical clock on it.

I love Bern. You guys are really getting out and about, it's awesome. Don't forget to go to Muerren one of these times -- and we'll join you!

I still want to ride bikes around the lake at Interlaken (I can't recall its name and am too lazy to look it up) -- are you guys into cycling?

Yeah, Bern is fun, isn't it? Our little guys don't know how to bike yet, but maybe they'll learn this summer in Minnesota!
