How come I can only get things done when there's something more important I'm supposed to be doing?

I was a whirlwind of getting things unpacked and sorted while I was supposed to be going over my big list o' companies to apply at. Now that I've found a cool new job (congratulate me -- I start next week!) the remaining pile of boxes-to-sort in the living room, well, it just isn't calling to me like it used to... ;^)

congratulations on the job--truly!

and I know what you mean about needing something to avoid in order to do this other thing you really ought to focus on.... I've been writing a lot because it's better than grading papers. No papers to grade = no writing getting done. It's very sad.

After reading Holly's comment, I now know why I blog. : -)

Congratulations on the job, Chanson.

If ever something should be printed on a T-shirt for me to wear, this is it. It is comforting to know other people experience the same 'reverse psychology' (as my children laughingly refer to my 'problem').

Hey, congratulations -- that was quick! Impressive... If you're not saying publicly, email me what you'll be doing, and for whom, k?

Thanks all!!!

And -- as an update -- my husband and I succeeded in spending the whole day yesterday cleaning and organizing! We had a mountain of boxes in our living room that needed to be sorted (and the stuff put away either in the apartment or in the basement storage area). Now we just have the office and our bedroom left to do, and we'll be done living out of boxes! :D

Wry -- I'll be happy to tell you all about it! Do you have a weekend in mind when you'll be free?
