Hey, that'd buy him dinner at my place for sure!! :-)
I think this definitely fits in with the "folk art" style of the late nineteenth century. Really I think I saw a bat just like that at the Carnegie. You should explain that to your waitress next time, although in the contemporary Art world they would probably call it "outsider art", so perhaps you should stick with that.
Eleanor and Amanda have both been very interested in the picture. Amanda's comment, "Look! A picture of a funny looking bat! This bat looks like a bear..." Eleanor thought I should put more of her pictures up on my blog. Which is probably not going to happen because the process of getting pictures off the camera onto a computer that I use is very tiresome.
That's cute that your kids read blogs with you and comment, like mine do. ;^)
I'd love to see some of Eleanor's drawings! In my case, we have a scanner, and I learned to use it to put drawings on the Internet when illustrating my novel. Of course the kids saw me doing that and wanted to join in the fun.

Very cute!
Hey Sabayon -- thanks for the tip!!! ;^)
p.s. I've written to you about your upcoming visit (sorry about the number of mails...), and we hope to hear from you to make plans! :D
It'd get him free dinner if I ran the restaurant, I love bats.
Too cute. How nice that he can also entertain himself at a restaurant!
